I've noticed the directions have changed with the new packaging design. Why are they different?
The directions on all of our products are one of the ways we educate the proper use of our product to ensure the best results.
The product states to discontinue use after 30 days because revivånail, like most nail hardeners, contains a chemical called formaldehyde, which is used to harden the nail quickly. If used over an extended period of time, the natural nail can be over hardened and the product can then have an adverse effect on the natural nail.
I've found the directions in the brochure to be a little difficult to understand. Is there a better way to explain them?
Signature, Xtreme:
- Apply one thin coat each day (directly on the natural nail or on top of polish) for up to one week.
- At the end of the week, remove the product with polish remover.
- Do not use Signature or Xtreme again for 30 days (can use Xtend during 30 day period).
- If nails again become thin and soft, repeat steps 1-3 above.
- If nails become overly hard and brittle, discontinue use.
Xtend:
- Apply one thin coat to clean, dry nails before applying polish.
- When ready to remove polish (usually in a week or so), remove product (and polish) with polish remover.
- Repeat steps 1-2.
- If nails again become thin and soft, use Signature or Xtreme as noted above.
- If nails become overly hard and brittle, discontinue use.
The directions for Xtend state this product is used when nails have completed one full growth cycle. What is “one full growth cycle”?
One full growth cycle can vary from person to person depending on the speed at which nails grow. Typically one full growth cycle is four to six months.
I've noticed some slight discoloration in this product, why does it change in color over time?
This product contains an ingredient called "nitrocellulose", which is related to paper (cellulose). Just as paper discolors when exposed to heat and/or sunlight, so does nitrocellulose. To minimize this natural process, always store this product in a cool, dark location and be sure to keep it away from direct sunlight.
